Dr Knut Schroeder

Departments: GP Trainer, Patient Education

I went to medical school in Germany before training to be a GP in Bath. After qualifying as a GP in 2000, I took up an academic position at the University of Bristol for five years, which involved teaching medical students and research on topics relevant to general practice. During that time I developed a particular interest in teaching and training, particularly in the area of clinical diagnosis. In 2005 I joined the Concord Medical Centre as a part-time partner.
In 2015, I left the partnership at Concord and am now a regular locum doctor for the practice.

I became a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2008 and am Innovation Lead and Board Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners’ Severn Faculty. In recent years I have developed a particular interest in medical writing and am trying to help making medical knowledge more accessible to lay people.
